Elite Agri Solutions is proud to provide Chainsaw Competency training led by a Public Services and Health and Safety Association (PSHSA) Instructor. This training will provide chainsaw operators with the skills and knowledge required to safety maintain and operate a chainsaw. The training covers a wide range of topics, including legislation, tree hazards, personal protective equipment, pre-operation inspection, kickback prevention, notching, limbing and felling.
The training consists of both classroom and practical components.
Appropriate for the Municipal sector, this is a certification program that will be of interest to employers and workers who use chainsaws in their workplace or deal with cutting of timber and tree management issues. Ontario Law requires workers be trained in the operation and maintenance of chainsaws. Chainsaws are used by a wide range of people in a wide range of occupations, it is a useful tool but if not properly maintained or trained on, a chainsaw can be very dangerous and holds great potential for injury. This training will provide chainsaw operators with the skills and knowledge required to safely maintain and operate a chainsaw.
The instructor is certified to offer this full day, in-person only training for up to 6 students. This training involves:
- proper chainsaw maintenance and sharpening
- an overview of safety equipment
- safe handling of the chainsaw
- how to safely fell a tree
- removing hangers or leaning trees
- limbing and bucking of a felled tree
Each participant will be required to fell a tree while performing safe handling procedures. Upon successful completion you will receive certification in Chainsaw Competency.
