Training Overview
Confined spaces can pose significant hazards if not properly understood and managed. Our Confined Space (CS) Awareness Training equips workers with the knowledge to recognize and assess confined spaces, identify potential hazards, and implement safe work practices.
Why is Confined Space Training required?
CS Awareness training is a legal requirement under Section 8 of O. Reg. 632/05 on Confined Spaces for workers entering or performing tasks related to confined space entry.
This course introduces the fundamentals of working safely in and around confined spaces, including the roles and responsibilities of all personnel involved, identifying risks and appropriate controls, and recognizing the critical importance of a well-prepared rescue plan.
At Elite we’re all for hands on experience, so our training also incorporates the use of modified equipment for educational purposes, giving participants a practical visualization of confined space entry and the required precautions when entering and exiting
Please Note: This training is not sufficient to meet the requirements for Confined Space Entry or Confined Space Rescuer Training.– these must be developed in collaboration with your workplace’s Joint Health and Safety Committee and include workplace-specific training
What’s Included?
The course is divided into two key components: theory and recommended (but optional) practice.
- Theory: Available in-person or online, allowing flexibility to suit your schedule.
- Practice: Hands-on practice sessions can be conducted at your workplace or our training facility.
Upon completion, participants will receive:
- Comprehensive instruction and a knowledge evaluation covering the essential aspects of working in and around confined spaces.
- Hands-on interactive practice to identify risks and evaluate safety in confined spaces.
- Certification that meets OHSA and CSA standards.
