Mobile Elevated Work Platform

Under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), operators of elevating work platforms—such as boom lifts (Group B) and scissor lifts (Group A)—must be deemed competent to ensure the safe operation of this dangerous machinery. Employers are responsible for verifying this competence before assigning such tasks. Certification enhances operators’ skills and ensures compliance with essential workplace safety standards. This course is designed in alignment with CSA Standards CAN3-B354.7:17 and 8:17 (R2022) to provide operators with the foundational knowledge necessary for safe equipment use. Upon completion, participants will be confident in reducing the risk of accidents and injuries, improving operational efficiency, and meeting provincial health and safety regulations, including S. 147 of O. Reg. 213/91 for Construction Projects and S. 51 of O. Reg. 851 for Industrial Establishments.
