Confined spaces on farms present significant risks if not adequately understood and managed. This comprehensive training, developed according to CSA Standard Z1006, will equip participants with the critical knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and safely navigate confined spaces.
Under O. Reg. 632/05 on Confined Spaces, Confined Space Awareness training is a requirement for all workers entering or working in association with confined spaces. This course prepares workers to recognize potential hazards, implement safe practices, and understand their roles and responsibilities in confined space work. It highlights the importance of risk assessments, control measures, and the necessity of an effective rescue plan.
***Please note: While this training is fundamental, it’s important to note that it does NOT meet the specific requirements for Confined Space Entry or Rescue Training. These must be addressed separately with workplace-specific training and collaboration with your Joint Health and Safety Committee.
