BC farmers, get ready—Stream 1: Producer Projects is making a comeback under the Agriculture Water Infrastructure Program (AWP), with applications opening November 18, 2025.

This vital funding stream is designed to help producers tackle some of the province’s most pressing water challenges, from spring flooding to summer droughts. Whether you’re irrigating crops or watering livestock, Stream 1 offers substantial support to build, upgrade, or expand the water systems your farm relies on.
What’s New in Stream 1?
Stream 1 is tailored for large-scale water infrastructure projects, with a 50% cost-share model. Eligible projects must have a minimum total cost of $400,000, with funding ranging from $200,000 to $1,000,000.
Eligible Activities Include:
- Repairing or upgrading agricultural dams and reservoirs
- Constructing or expanding dugouts for irrigation and livestock
- Building new water storage infrastructure
- Converting open ditches to pipelines (with potential water savings of 30–50%)
- Improving water delivery systems from off-farm sources to your gate
