The Canadian Agricultural Strategic Priorities Program (CASPP) is now accepting applications on a continuous basis, offering funding for projects that address key challenges and opportunities across Canadian agriculture.

- All projects must be completed by March 31, 2029
What This Program Supports
This program is designed to help the agriculture and agri-food sector:
- Develop new ideas, products, and market opportunities
- Address emerging challenges across the industry
- Test and implement innovative solutions to stay competitive
Funding Highlights
- Up to $1 million per project
- Typically 50% cost-share (applicant contributes the remaining 50%)
- Up to 75% funding available for high-priority or public benefit projects
- Repayable and non-repayable funding options available
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include:
- Not-for-profit organizations (associations, co-ops, marketing boards)
- Indigenous groups (First Nations, Métis, Inuit)
- Government organizations (municipal, provincial, territorial)
Note: For-profit organizations may be considered in cases where the project benefits the broader sector.
Priority Areas
Projects must align with at least one of the following:
- Adoption of New Technology: Testing, improving, or commercializing innovative tools and solutions.
- Environmental Sustainability: Supporting resiliency and climate-smart practices.
- Strategic Planning & Capacity Building: Strengthening sector readiness and long-term growth.
- Emerging Issues: Responding to urgent or unexpected challenges facing the industry.
Eligible Projects May Include
- Testing or adopting new agricultural technologies
- Developing value-added products or processes
- Advancing environmental or sustainability initiatives
- Strengthening organizational capacity or sector strategies
- Responding to new or urgent industry challenges
