How much funding is available?
The Program provides up to $150,000 per farm business for eligible projects completed between April 1, 2023, and March 2028, with varying allotments across four streams:
- Smart Farm Technology – up to $50,000
- Energy Efficiency – up to $50,000
- Farm Security – up to $2,000
- Efficient Grain Handling – up to $100,000
ON-FARM EFFICIENCY PROGRAM (OFEP)
What types of projects may be supported?
Under Smart Farm Technology, you could get funding for:
- Agronomic decision-making tools, drones, upgrades for variable rate fertilizer application, livestock EID tag readers and management software, Weed-It systems and rate/sectional controllers, seed drill blockage systems, smart calf feeders
Under Energy Efficiency, you could get funding for:
- Tankless water heaters, high-efficiency boilers, insulation in for new barns, metering equipment
Under Farm Security, you could get funding for:
- Remote fuel tag monitors, remote monitoring for cameras, motion detectors, driveway/door sensors
Under Efficient Grain Handling, you could get funding for:
- Automated moisture-based controllers, high-efficiency burners, variable speed drives, heat exchangers, gravity fill roofs, automated bin fan control systems, natural gas lines, thermostats
This intake is OPEN and will accept applications until funds are fully allocated.
